Coverage for your work vehicles
Work trucks, vans, delivery vehicles, or a full fleet — commercial auto insurance is generally what responds when a business vehicle is in an accident. Personal auto policies typically exclude business use.

Frequently asked questions
Does my personal auto policy cover business use?
Usually not. Personal auto policies generally exclude vehicles used for business, which is the gap a commercial auto policy is intended to fill. Using a personal policy for business driving can jeopardize a claim.
What limits do I need?
Every state sets a financial-responsibility minimum, but that is a floor. Heavier vehicles, for-hire operations, and many contracts require more — a $500,000 or $1,000,000 combined single limit is a common request. Interstate for-hire carriers face federal (FMCSA) minimums.
What is hired and non-owned auto coverage?
It is generally intended to respond when you or your employees drive rented vehicles or personal cars for business. It is a common add-on for businesses that do not own all the vehicles their people drive.
Do I need physical damage coverage?
Liability is generally intended to respond to damage you cause to others; physical damage (comprehensive and collision) is optional coverage for your own vehicles. Lenders and lessors commonly require it on financed vehicles.
Coverage descriptions are general and not a promise of coverage. State minimums are a floor, not a recommendation; required limits, eligibility, and pricing are set by the carrier and vary by vehicle, use, and driving records.
